Pillai Athletes shines at National School Athletics Meet

Three students of Pillai HOC International School, Rasayani participated and reached in the finals of National School Athletics Meet held at Ettava, Uttar Pradesh from 29th January to 2nd February, 2013. Their stunning performance in the District, Divisional and State Athletics meets made them to reach at the finals in the Nationals for Maharashtra.

Out of three athletes, two are competing for 110 H/Hurdles titles as they came first and second in the State Meet and one for 200 mtrs. Tousif Shaikh and Vishal Lokhre both stood First and Second respectively during State Athletics Meet held at Jalana in November 2013 are under hectic training at HOC Stadium under their coach Ajay Dusara. Diptesh Utekar, 200 mtr sprinter also a 10th std. student who came second with 23.05 seconds during State Athletic Meet improved his timing during recently held PYKA National Meet. PYKA nationals he competes in 100 mtrs also and stood 6th with a timing of 11.04 and 23.02 in 200 mtrs respectively. Diptesh is confident of making his entry into the first three at the nationals in near future.

Tousif clocked 15.00 sec and Vishal clocked 15.03 sec respectively in State Meet but they bettered there timing now with .3 sec and .5 sec respectively during these preparation training at Rasayani. These promising students are confident of making their entry into the national squad one day.

Pillai dominate Raigad District Under-16 years Boys Volleyball Team lift the Mumbai Divisional Gramin Volleyball Title

Raigad District Under-16 years Boys Volleyball Team led by Subham Patwal, student of Pillai HOC International School won the Mumbai Zonal Gramin Volleyball title by beating Thane District in straight two (2-0) sets. The team dominated by Pillai HOC students excel in all aspect of the game as they never look back in the tourney which held at St. Joseph High School and Jr. College, Kalamboli on 21st Novemeber, 2012. Jaydeep Holger, Mandar Patil and Niraj played excellently well for the team.

Tousif, Vishal and Diptesh shine at State School Athletics Meet

Pillai HOC International School student Tousif Shaikh steel the show of School State Athletics Championship by winning the Gold Medal in the prestigious 110 High Hurdle by clocking a time of 15:10 sec.

Pillai HOC Athlete Vishal Lokhre stood second with 15:60 sec. at Jalna.

In 200 meter race Diptesh Utekar class 10th student of Pillai HOC International School, won the Silver Medal by clocking 23:60 sec.

All three athletes made their entry into the State squad for the forthcoming National Championship at Lucknow.

Handball and Kick Boxing Team won the Raigad District School Championship

Handball Boys Team

  • Under-19 years Boys Handball Team won the Raigad District School Handball Championship.
  • Captain of the team Vivek Gore lead from the front and sail through his side to the semifinal with his own 06 goals contribution in the match and beat APJ School, Khargar with a score of (12-3).

Kick Boxing Boys and Girls Team

  • Under-19 years Boys and Girls Kick Boxing Team won the District School Kick Boxing title 2012-13 which was held at Shushma Patil Vidyalay, Kamothe, on 5th September, 2012.

Hockey Team Won Under-17 (Boys) Nehru Cup and School District Hockey Tourney

Achievements

  • Under-17 years Boys Hockey Team won the District Nehru Cup title held at Bombay Hockey Stadium.
  • The Girls Hockey Team for District Mahila Championship also emerged as champions by beating New Horizon Public School in the finals by 2-0.
  • Under-19 years Girls Hockey Team won the district title by beating St. Joseph High School, Kalamboli by a margin of two goals in the Hockey Tournament conducted by Raigad DSO for District School.
  • Under-17 and 19 year’s Boys Teams reached up to the Second Placed and emerged as Runners-up in the Hockey Tournament.

Taekwondo Team Won Runners-Up Trophy in District School Championship 2012-13

Achievements

  • Stood Second in the Raigad District School Taekwondo Championship held at Panvel.
  • School won 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals and 10 Bronze Medals in the tourney.
  • All Gold Medal and Silver Medal Winners have been selected for the Raigad District Team from the Mumbai Division School Taekwondo Championship.

Under-19 Boy and Girls Teams Won the District Throw Ball Title

  • Under-19 years Boys and Girls Team won the District School Throw Ball Championship held at Pillai HOC Stadium, Rasayani and qualified to go for Divisional Tournament.

Pillai HOC International School’s Clean Sweep at District School Volley Ball Tourney 2012-13

Pillai HOC International School Under-19 yrs (boys), Under-17 yrs (girls) and Under-17 yrs (boys) steal the show of Raigad District School Volleyball Championship 2012-13 held at Pillai HOC Sports Stadium from 27th – 28th September, 2012 conducted by Raigad District Sports Office. Apart from previous years only the winners and runners-up of various taluka teams under Raigad district participated in the tourney, as teams from interior parts of the district participated in the two days long tourney.

In Under-17 years (boys) final match between Pillai HOC International School and Kolhad High School, Mahad, the Pillai boys outplayed a strong team of Kolhad High School of Mahad.

The Under-19 boys of Pillai’s led by Vinayak Upadhyay, on their way to the finals beat J. M. Rathi Higher Secondary School, Roha in their first match by (25-15, 25-11). In the progressive matches they overpowered H. M. Palivala English School, Panvel by (25-1, 25-09) and in the finals they beat a highly tactful Khajinder Jr. College, Mahad by (25 -4, 25-8).

Captain Vinayak Upadhyay led the attack of Pillai with backing of Mithilesh Jangid who made his presence felt by some excellent spiking movement by his quick attack and centre block and made it easy for Pillai’s to grab the title. Setter Dishant Rawat and the Libero Sagar Rathod also played well for Pillai’s.

In Under-17 Girls, The Pillai HOC International School team led by Prerna Sharma beat Balbarathi School, Khargar in the final by (25-13, 25-15). On their way to the finals Pillai Girls beat R. P. Divedkar Dandbori High School, Srivardhan by (25-20, 25-13) and in the Semi Final’s they beat a much stronger side Kolhad High School who represent Mahad Taluka by (27-25, 25-15). Captain Prerna and Ankita Khatayat spiked excellently for Pillai’s with support of their setter Susmita.

MSAS – Basket Ball, Judo Teams Emerged Victorious

  • Won 3 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals in the District School Judo Championship held at Alibaug on 13th September, 2012 organized by District Sports Office.

Basketball Team

  • Under-19 years Basketball Boys Team won the Runners-up Trophy of the District School Basketball Tournament held at DAV School, Panvel on 14th September, 2012.
